Prof. Luc DelrivièreHepato-Pancreato-Biliary Surgeon & General Surgeon
Professor Luc Delrivière (UWA) is the Senior Surgeon for liver transplant and hepato-biliary surgery at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital since 2004. His work has played a major role in the expansion of liver and kidney transplant programs in WA, with activity in both areas having now more than doubled. He is involved in clinical and experimental research programs at the Harry Perkins Institute.
His extensive training in general surgery and cutting edge transplant/hepato-biliary specialisation were completed in Brussels, Paris, Tokyo, Brisbane, King’s College Hospital in London and Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge between 1989 and 2004. He has been involved in over 1,000 liver transplants throughout his career.
Prof Delrivière performs the most advanced and safe liver, bile duct, gallbladder, hernia and pancreas surgery at St John of God in Subiaco. His clinical approach is multidisciplinary and involves colleague oncologists, gastroentrolologists, hepatologists and interventional radiologists.
Professor Delrivière's highly specialised surgical skills, developed in such a challenging specialty as liver transplantation, are offered to all patients - whatever the indication of their surgery may be.
In 2013 Professor Delrivière established “The Liver Centre” and “The Hernia Gallbladder Centre”. The team has since expanded and now offers highly specialised surgery for all upper abdominal organs.
The team is now known as “The Surgeons Collective” which gives patients the benefit of a unique and centralised group including leading surgeons, specialist hepatologists (liver physicians), gastro-enterologists and dietitians.

Mr Suresh NavadgiHepato-Pancreato-Biliary Surgeon & General Surgeon
Mr Suresh Navadgi is a consultant surgeon specialising in Upper GI-Hepato-biliary Surgery and General Surgery. He is affiliated with Royal Perth Hospital as an Upper GI and Hepato-biliary Surgeon as well as at Fiona Stanley Hospital as a Renal Transplant Surgeon. He practices privately at The Liver Centre, WA located in West Leederville.
Mr Navadgi specialises in complex laparoscopic Upper GI surgery for benign conditions such as reflux, hiatus hernia, bile duct stones, splenectomy. He also performs state of the art minimal invasive and open liver and pancreatic surgery and liver ablation for primary and metastatic cancers. Mr Navadgi also performs general surgery procedures routinely such as laparoscopic cholecystectomy, groin and ventral hernia repairs.
Having completed his initial general surgery training through Mumbai University, he did a three -year Fellowship in Surgical oncology (Cancer surgery) at The Tata Memorial Cancer Centre which is the leading tertiary cancer referral centre for South-East Asia. He visited the Memorial -Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre, New York and University of Heidelberg in Germany during his fellowship. He has trained with mentors who are world leaders in Hepato-biliary and pancreatic surgery and has a vast surgical experience in this complex field.
He moved to Australia in 2008 and obtained the Fellowship of Royal Australasian College of Surgery in 2012. Subsequently, he has completed subspecialty training in Upper GI and Hepatobiliary surgery in Melbourne and solid organ Transplant Fellowship in Auckland. He was awarded the ANZHPBA fellowship and the ‘Padbury trophy” for excelling the fellowship exams.
Mr Navadgi has scientific publications in several peer-reviewed journals and is actively involved with the Australian College of Surgeons in training the future surgical trainees.
Mr Siva SundararajanBariatric & General Surgeon
Mr Siva Sundararajan is a qualified general and obesity surgeon. His main areas of interest are weight loss surgery, gall bladder and hernia surgery. To ensure that the best possible care is provided to his patients, he has undertaken extensive training in the UK, Australia and Europe.
Siva was born in India and migrated to Singapore where he completed his school education. He then served in the Singapore Armed Forces as a combat medic before moving to the UK to study medicine. Siva graduated from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland in 2003. After starting surgical training in the UK, he migrated to Australia. There he completed many years of surgical training and was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2016.
To pursue his interest in obesity surgery, he spent a year at Box Hill Hospital in Melbourne in a high volume bariatric surgery unit with expert surgeons. His mentors there were the first in Australia to perform robotic bariatric surgery and had pioneered obesity surgery in Australia. Siva then went to Belgium to work with Dr Bruno Dillemans, a world-renowned surgeon in complex obesity surgery to fine tune his skills. In their bariatric centre in Bruges, they have performed over 10,000 gastric bypasses and have surgeons from all over the world coming to obtain expertise in complex obesity surgery.

Mr Ruwan WijesuriyaGeneral surgeon
Mr Ruwan Wijesuriya is a consultant in General Surgery, at St John of God Midland Public and Private hospital and A/Professor (Adjunct) at the University of Notre Dame, School of Medicine in Western Australia. He underwent undergraduate and basic surgical training in Sri Lanka. His higher surgical training was at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in Perth, in general surgery, hepato-biliary and liver transplantation. On completion of his training in Australia he returned to Sri Lanka to serve the country as the lead consultant in hepato-biliary and transplant surgery, for a period of 3 years. The team he lead had the honour of performing the first ever successful living donor liver transplantation in Sri Lanka. After establishing a state of art Liver Transplant Unit in Colombo (Sri Lanka), he proceeded back to Perth to accept a post as a specialist surgeon. He is a keen researcher who has published widely in peer reviewed journals and supervises medical students and post graduate trainee surgeons.
Mr Wijesuriya performs a wide spectrum of general surgical and liver operations including hernia, gall bladder and removal of lumps.

Dr Adrian TeoUpper GI, Bariatric & General Surgeon
Dr Adrian Teo is a General Surgeon with sub-specialisation in Upper Gastrointestinal and Bariatric Surgery. He studied medicine at the University of New South Wales and trained in General Surgery in Sydney. During his training, he was the recipient of the Atrium Scholarship Prize by the Australian & New Zealand Society for Vascular Surgery for best trainee research. He was also a Conjoint Associate Lecturer of the Faculty of Medicine, University of New South Wales.
Following this, he has undertaken an additional three years of post-fellowship training in major centres in Australia and New Zealand. He spent his first year as the Surgical Fellow at the Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital, a high volume referral centre in South-West Sydney for surgery of oesophageal, gastric and pancreatic cancers. He was then successful in being selected to the accredited fellowship training programme by the Australia & New Zealand Gastric & Oesophageal Surgery Association (ANZGOSA), where he has trained for a year at Auckland City Hospital, New Zealand and another year at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, Perth. During his training, he has gained a wide range of experience in the many facets of Oesophago-Gastric and Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary surgery including minimally invasive techniques for oesophageal and gastric cancers, obesity surgery, complex oesophageal reconstructions and resectional operations for pancreatic cancer.
Dr Teo has expertise and interest in the surgery for gastro-oesophageal reflux, oesophageal and gastric tumours, weight-loss operations, gallbladder, achalasia, hiatal hernias, hernias of the abdomen and groin, complex recurrent hernias and endoscopy.

Gemma is an Accredited Practising Dietitian and has been working in clinical dietetics for over 12 years. She has also completed a Diploma of Management.
Gemma graduated from Curtin University in 2005 and commenced working as a clinical dietitian at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in 2006. Her specialities lie in the areas of liver and kidney transplant, hepatology (liver disease), gastroenterology (gastrointestinal disorders), general surgery, oncology, weight loss and bariatric surgery.
Gemma loves meeting people. She brings to the practice a fresh, friendly, uplifting and positive attitude which she shares with all her patients and co-workers. Her passion is to educate and inspire her patients to make healthy food changes that have a positive and long-lasting difference to their life. She helps her patients understand the basis behind why they are eating as they are and assists to educate them to making smart food choices, creating a sustainable plan that her patients can commit to for longer than a few months.
Appreciating that every patient is unique and has different needs is something that Gemma holds of high importance. That’s why she applies a personalised care plan to each of her patients, during their consultation. She takes her time during each appointment to connect with her patient and carefully and mindfully, develops the most suitable food and lifestyle plan, based on her excellent nutritional knowledge and evidence-based practice, to ensure a long-term positive outcome.
Gemma is a believer of everything in moderation, nothing in excess. Having a greater awareness in how your body functions and about eating and appreciating real foods that are enjoyable and healthy, whilst also practicing balance and moderation, is key in performing at your peak every day and to create the best opportunity to sustain long-term happiness, health and success.
May is an Accreditated Practising Dietitian. She is a member of the Dietitians Association of Australia. May has an interest and background in Liver and Renal Transplant. She specialises in Liver Diseases (Fatty Liver Disease) and Gastrointestinal Disorders (Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Irritable Bowel Diseases). May has extensive experience in managing complex nutrition cases in General surgery, Upper GI surgery, Oncology, Renal Diseases ( pre-dialysis and dialysis ), Bariatric Surgery and Weight loss management, including prescription of Optifast.
May graduated from Curtin University of Technology in Perth with a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Food Science and a Graduate Diploma in Dietetics.
She has 18 years experience in advanced medical nutrition therapy.
May started her career at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, then as part of the team at National University Hospital, in Singapore. Later on, she resided in her role of Senior Dietitian at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. Along with the Western Australia Liver Transplantation Services at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, she was instrumental in the set up of dietetic services for liver and kidney transplant.
She also lectures final year Dietetic students, speaks at professional development events and manages dietitians in tertiary clinical practise. Currently, she is pursuing her Diploma in Leadership and Management.
May has a great passion for clinical dietetics. Providing care for complex medical nutrition cases is her forte. She tailors evidence based practise to individual care plans that delivers great outcomes to nutrition health.
Her South East Asian heritage shapes her passion for food and multicultural cuisine.
With her friendly and genuine approach, along with her diverse experience, May is commited to the delivery of quality care in her consults.

As one of the business owners of The Surgeons Collective, Bronwyn has a dedication to the practice that ensures it maintains a service delivery of the highest standard. Her involvement in establishing The Liver Centre, WA’s first multi-disciplinary specialist private practice offering both medical and surgical treatment for patients with liver disease, has been a professional dream realised and a highlight in her career. Bronwyn's most recent accomplishment has been in developing The Surgeons Collective, a practice dedicated to innovation and focussed on continued improvement. Holding a diploma in business and finance management, Bronwyn has enjoyed a diverse working experience spread over the past 15 years in areas such as project management, marketing & communication, business development & management & finance. This experience has allowed her to create her niche in her favourite industry of course, being in healthcare. With a passion for learning, Bronwyn is always striving to develop and grow her skills and regularly participates in educational activities, with a focus on always improving healthcare practices, to shine a light on the possibilities for growth and change.
